Experience Isfjorden by closed and comfortable RIB

Join us on a flexible boat trip through Isfjorden’s unique nature, where each day’s route is chosen based on weather conditions, wildlife activity, and the best opportunities for memorable nature experiences.

With our closed and heated RIB boat, we can travel comfortably on the fjord even in more demanding weather. You stay dry and warm inside the boat, with panoramic views through large windows — and the option to step out onto the aft deck when conditions allow.

We travel efficiently to where the chances of great experiences are highest. The destination may be mighty glacier fronts, bird cliffs, drift ice, whale areas, or other parts of Isfjorden where Arctic nature is at its most spectacular.

Today’s focus: glaciers, wildlife, and Arctic landscapes

Isfjorden offers rich and varied wildlife. In recent years, more whales have been observed in the fjords around Longyearbyen, and we may be lucky enough to see minke whales, belugas, humpback whales, seals, walruses, reindeer, Arctic foxes, and abundant birdlife.

Between May and August, we often visit one of the fjord’s bird cliffs, where seabirds such as guillemots, kittiwakes, and puffins nest on the steep mountainsides.

We also often set course for Isfjorden’s impressive glacier fronts. Here, massive walls of ice may calve into the fjord, while seals rest on the ice and thousands of birds gather in the nutrient-rich waters in front of the glacier.

At a calm and scenic location, we serve hot homemade soup prepared by our chefs, together with warm drinks. The meal is enjoyed on board, surrounded by Arctic silence, ice, mountains, and fjord.

Wildlife is never guaranteed when travelling in Svalbard. All animals roam freely, so we cannot promise sightings. However, our experienced guides know the area well and will do their best to find wildlife and give you a safe, comfortable, and memorable experience.

Later in the season, when many species begin migrating south, we place greater focus on Svalbard’s dramatic nature, history, glacier landscapes, and the beautiful light conditions of the Arctic autumn.
