Operated by Snowfox Travel

Arctic Glacier Safari to Sefströmbreen and Svenskhuset

Let’s create unforgettable Arctic memories together.

Join us on a full-day Arctic adventure by warm, closed and fast RIB boat as we travel deep into Isfjorden towards Ekmanfjorden, Coraholmen, Wahlenbergbreen, Sefströmbreen and the historic Svenskhuset.

This is a unique opportunity to experience some of Svalbard’s most impressive Arctic scenery, combining glaciers, wildlife, landings, drift ice, dramatic landscapes and fascinating history.

Please Note

This trip takes place in a remote Arctic environment, and the final route will always depend on weather, sea ice, wind and safety conditions.

For safety reasons, the planned route may be adjusted at short notice. Your safety is always our highest priority. If the route is changed for safety reasons, no refund will be given.

In the unlikely event that we are unable to carry out the trip, either by adjusting the route or by starting the booked tour, you will receive a full refund.

Although this activity also focuses on wildlife, sightings can never be guaranteed.

The Arctic Experience

We travel north across the impressive Isfjorden towards the magical area of Ekmanfjorden. Our comfortable 12-passenger boat is closed, warm and equipped with a toilet, making the journey both adventurous and comfortable.

After approximately 1.5 hours by boat, we reach the first majestic glacier of the day, Wahlenbergbreen. Here, we spend time in front of the glacier wall, taking in the scenery and looking for possible Arctic wildlife such as whales, belugas, birds, walruses and seals.

We then continue further into Ekmanfjorden towards our first landing spot. After anchoring the boat, we can go ashore, hike towards the waterfall, explore historical sites and enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding Arctic landscape. Along the way, we will stop for warm drinks and something sweet.

Sefströmbreen and Coraholmen

After everyone has returned to the boat, we continue deeper into the fjord towards Sefströmbreen, the northernmost glacier in Isfjorden.

Depending on sea ice conditions, we may be able to get close to the glacier wall. Keep an eye out as we pass the extraordinary island of Coraholmen, known for its striking red-coloured stones. The landscape here can feel almost like Mars, surrounded by Arctic wilderness and drifting ice.

We will enjoy a warm expedition lunch and drinks in front of the glacier before continuing towards the next stop.

Svenskhuset — The Haunted House

Our final historical stop is Svenskhuset, often referred to as the Haunted House.

It takes approximately one hour by boat to reach the high cliffs near this historic site. From there, we can walk up towards Svenskhuset while your guide shares the story of the fascinating and tragic events that took place here.

This combination of remote history, dramatic landscapes, wildlife scouting and glacier views makes the trip a memorable full-day Arctic experience.
