This hike takes you to a place far away from town to the silence of the Arctic. A different adventure than our other hikes.

After we pick you up, we drive to Adventdalen, leaving the settlement behind us.

We pass by a lot of interesting sites – the Isdammen, old airport, the old mines before we get to EISCAT area with radar systems which are used to monitor interactions between the Sun and the Earth.

Equipped with solid snowshoes, we will head up to Breinosa and the glacier plateau Foxfonna where we will take a break to enjoy a hot lunch. From there, we will have a view that will make you understand the meaning of the word “ice cap” – there are glaciers wherever you look!

Bring a backpack with some extra warm clothes and water for the hike. Be dressed for being outdoors the whole day.

Included: Transport from and return to accommodation, warm drink, biscuits and guide with security equipment.  If needed, we use snow shoes. Remember to bring a small backpack for Your personal belongings, camera, water and – please wear comfortable warm hiking shoes.
