Long all day trip with beautiful view.

The trip starts at Taubanesentralen in Longyearbyen. After ca 45 minutes we arrive on the plateau (400 masl). We follow the plateau, together with nice Greenland dogs to Nordenskjoldtoppen.

The view over Longyearbyen is wonderful. We can observe flora, reindeer, birds and stone formations (polygons). The second part of the way up is an easy walk along a small ridge.

At lunch time we arrive on the top of the highest mountain in the vicinity of Longyearbyen. A long break and lunch time. We start to descend, along the ridge and the narrow valley Tverrdalen.

In short time we pass Sverdrupbyen, the oldest part of Longyearbyen. You need to be in god physical condition and you need good mountain boots.
