Join us on the world’s northernmost fjord cruise with MS Billefjord.
Experience the rich Arctic wildlife and birdlife. Keep your eyes open for whales, seals, and a vibrant birdlife. If we are lucky, we may also spot a polar bear wandering near the glacier.
The guide on board will tell stories about Longyearbyen’s history, glaciers, wildlife, and birdlife, and may also share a polar tall tale or two.
Visit to Barentsburg
In Barentsburg, we go ashore and are welcomed by a Russian guide who will take us on a tour of the town. There will also be some time to explore on your own before the boat returns to Longyearbyen.
In Barentsburg, you will find a post office, a souvenir shop, and a local brewery.
On the way back to Longyearbyen, we pass the abandoned Russian coal mining facilities in Coles Bay and Grumant, as well as the bird cliffs.

General information
The times above depend on weather and wind conditions, wildlife encounters, and drop-off or pickup of guests in the field.
Bus transfer is available from: airport/campsite, Coal Miners, Guesthouse 102, Spitsbergen Hotel, Svalbard Hotel, Basecamp, Svalbard Lodge, Radisson BLU, Russkiy Dom, and Mary Ann’s Polarrigg.
Bring warm and windproof clothing, including a hat and mittens. Remember to bring binoculars and a camera.
There is a fully licensed bar on board. Waffles, kiosk items, and souvenirs can be purchased on board. Both cash and card are accepted.
No refund is given if weather, wind, and/or ice conditions make it necessary to change the route, or if we are unable to dock in Pyramiden or Barentsburg.
We recommend that our customers have travel insurance. No refund is given in the event of illness or cancellation/delay of flights or boats.
A surcharge of NOK 50 will be charged on board if a guest requests special dietary food, such as vegetarian or vegan food. Special dietary food must be ordered no later than 15:00 the day before departure.

Cancellation terms for individual guests
Applies to 1–19 people.
Up to 22 days before the activity: 5% fee of the full amount.
21 to 8 days before the activity: 50% fee of the full amount.
7 to 0 days before the activity: no refund.
Cancellation terms for groups
Applies to 20 people or more.
Up to 91 days before the activity: full refund.
Free reduction of the number of participants in the group by up to 30% of the original number, up to 41 days before the originally scheduled departure.
For cancellations 40–0 days before the date, no refund is given.
Important information about participation
Participants on our tours must decide for themselves whether they are mentally and physically able to take part in the activity based on what is expected of them, regardless of which tour they sign up for.
No refund is given in the event of Covid-19-related illness, other illness, or injuries.
